Reasons to Install an Aluminium Slat Fence Around Your Property

Blog

If you're considering what fence option to choose for your home, why not install aluminium slat fencing? Not only do these barriers improve your home's kerb appeal, but they offer many design variables so you can fulfil your specific privacy and security needs. Consider the following reasons to go with this option.

Provides Customisation Options

You can adapt slat fencing to cohere with your landscape by choosing its colour from a wide range, including charcoal, white, black, green and beige amongst other hues. You could match the fencing with the wall cladding, roof, trim or paving. Plus, you also have freedom in terms of the slat width and spacing. For an aesthetically heavier fence, pair wide slats with narrow gaps or, for a lighter-looking wall, combine thin slats with wider spaces.

Creates Privacy

Slat fences are ideal for creating privacy, allowing you to reclaim your front yard for entertaining, relaxing and playing. Some other barriers, such as picket and tubular metal styles, establish your property boundary without creating a private space. You can simply adjust the privacy of a slat fence by altering the gap width and spacing. The benefit of slat designs over totally solid metal or timber fences is that even slight breaks that allow flickers of light through the gaps stop the fence from totally blocking the light and creating a confined feeling in the front yard.

Low-Maintenance

Slat aluminium fencing provides a low-maintenance option, which won't monopolise your free leisure time and prevent more enjoyable activities. Aluminium naturally prohibits rust so these fences can withstand all sorts of weather and atmospheres, including moist and humid climates. Thus, if you live in a rainy area or near the coast aluminium is the ideal material. Occasionally, you may need to wash your fence or hose it down with warm water and a mild detergent that you might use for the car or dishes. Check with your fencing installer about what products they recommend.

Keeps Dogs Safe

Aluminium slat fences are perfect for containing pet dogs. You can choose narrow gaps that don't allow your dog to squeeze through. Other styles, such as tubular metal fences, have gaps between railings through which some dogs can try to squeeze and either escape or get stuck. Additionally, standard picket fences and tubular metal fences are too low. Aluminium slat fences, on the other hand, can be built any height to prevent your dog from jumping over it. Also, aluminium is extremely tough, so your dog won't be able to chew it to bits like they possibly could with timber.

How to Choose Security Fencing

If you want a security fence, you probably want to keep something safely inside the fence and/or something (or someone!) outside of it. That’s the easy bit. Choosing the right security fencing for your needs can be a bit more difficult. For example, before you can buy the right fencing, you need to think about all kinds of stuff from the size of the fence to the material it’s made of. In some cases, you may also want to add security extras like anti-climb features. I created this blog to cover the ins and outs of security fencing in more detail. Hopefully, it’ll help you learn more about how to choose the right fencing for your security problem.
